Step 1.Review Requirements 

  • Register your MFU with Grand Prairie Public Health
  • Submit a private property authorization form to Grand Prairie Public Health
  • Apply for a permit with Dallas or Tarrant County
  • Must comply with all county requirements to obtain a permit
  • Pay all applicable fees to the county. There are no city fees.
  • Submit a copy of your county permit to Grand Prairie Public Health

Step 2.Apply with the City

Bring a notarized permit authorization form from the property owner to Public Health and Environmental Quality Department (PHEQ).

The area/location must be authorized to conduct business according to current local zoning laws.

After completing the online application, allow 24 to 48 hours for processing applications.

Step 3.Apply with your county

Depending on the county in which you live, you'll have to apply for their Mobile Food Unit (MFU) inspection.

Step 4.Provide Permit

Once you obtain a permit with the county, provide a copy of the permit to the Grand Prairie PHEQ.

No MFUs will be authorized to operate within city limits without first registering with PHEQ and have a valid county permit.
