Flood Crossing Gates

Low water crossing gates on Carrier Parkway

Automated low water crossing gates have been installed on Carrier Parkway between Dickey Road on the north and Phillips Court to the south. The gates will lower to block northbound and southbound traffic on Carrier Parkway when Cottonwood Creek floods over the road near McFalls Park West. The gates have flashing lights and emit a warning sound as they lower.

If you get caught between the gates while traveling between Dickey Road and Phillips Court, stay calm.

Approach the gate.

Slowly drive uphill toward the closed gate until a sensor on the closed gate is triggered.

Wait.

Wait for the gate to rise.

Evacuate.

Continue driving away from the floodwater. The gate will open for you, and close back again once you have passed through.
