You can help those in need keep their water on by automatically adding as little as $1 a month to your water bill.
This extra money goes into a dedicated account at the city to be used exclusively to assist with water payments for qualified households once a year. Those with a delinquent water bill could apply to Grand Prairie United Charities for once a year assistance. The fund currently operates on a mere $15,000 a year in donations, which can only help about 150 families a year. The need is exponentially greater and you can help.
Grand Prairie United Charities (GPUC) was founded in 1955 to meet the emergency needs of Grand Prairie residents who are experiencing financial setbacks. GPUC believes that prompt intervention in the form of emergency assistance can ward off a potential crisis and prevent the family or individual from being without shelter, food or utilities. GPUC is a 501c3 charitable organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
