The Grand Prairie Municipal Airport has a 4,000-foot-long, 75-foot-wide lighted, concrete runway, repair service and cargo handling, a helipad, and support facilities for training, private aviation and business flying activities.

The airport is a designated Reliever Airport and is in the FAA National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems and the Texas Aeronautical Facilities Plan.

The airport handles planes ranging from small piston planes to large business turboprop aircraft and helicopters. It lies three miles southwest of downtown.

There are 227 individual T-hangars at the airport.  The new terminal is now open during the operating hours for the restaurant.

The airport conference room is available to rent for special events.
