The City of Grand Prairie has three Flood Warning Sirens in areas of the city that are within a 100-year floodplain.
These areas are subject to flooding and may become inaccessible during a flood emergency.
When Flood Warning Sirens activate, expect to hear 4 tones followed by a verbal message informing you that there is an emergency, flood water is rising, and to evacuate the area.

Flood Sirens will test every first Wednesday of the month, following the usual Outdoor Warning Siren test at 1 p.m. (weather permitting). Flood Siren testing will be two tones followed by a verbal message stating that it is only a test.
