Engineering Development Services

The Engineering Department offers many services to the private development community to assist project owners, designers and contractors throughout the design and construction process.

LiDAR Data and Record Drawings

The City of Grand Prairie currently has 1-foot elevation contours based on 2016 LiDAR data for the City.  The contours are available in CAD (*.dwg) and GIS (*.gdb) formats. Record drawings are also available for many city-owned facilities including water, wastewater, and storm drain utilities.

LiDAR data and record drawings can be provided by the Engineering Department without a fee.

Impact and Tap Fees

The Engineering Department collects Impact and Tap fees for water and sewer services within the City. Fee rates are found within the Unified Development Code, Article 22(PDF, 356KB) . View the Impact and Tap Fee Form,(PDF, 171KB) which summarizes these fees.

Final Acceptance Documents

In order to receive final acceptance of a project, the Engineer of Record must deliver the following to the Engineering Department at 300 W. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050. Learn more about Record Drawings and final Project Acceptance Requirements.
