Building Inspections online services will be unavailable Friday, Sept. 30, 2022 for system maintenance. Do I need a Permit for my Commercial Project?

The Building Inspections Division conducts the following types of permits and inspections within the city limits of Grand Prairie. Permitting requirements vary considerably depending on the scope of the project. Here’s what you need to know about acquiring permits before you get started.

Online Permit Process

Permits are processed in approximately 10 business days. Depending on updates needed from the applicant, as this can result in longer approval times.

24-Hour Inspection Request Line

24-Hour Inspection Request Line: 972-237-8007. All inspection requests received overnight and before 8:00 a.m. the next morning will be place on that day's inspection schedule. Calls received after 8:00 a.m. will be scheduled for the next work day.
