Proposition B – Public Safety: $78.5 Million (estimated $9.36 annually)*
Proposition B will fund projects for the city’s public safety resources in the southern part of the city and upgrade other existing public safety assets in the city. The projects include the replacement of a radio tower, acquiring and installing a traffic safety communication network, plus a new public safety multipurpose resource center in the southern part of the city, as further described below.

Public Safety Technology Infrastructure
Description: Replacement of the current North Radio Tower at 2201 109th Street, which was built more than 25 years ago. Since then, the city has grown and development patterns have changed. Relocating the radio tower would help maintain and improve public safety radio coverage and communication reliability in the area.

Public Safety Southern Resource Center
Description: Build a multipurpose, public safety resource center in the southern part of the city to provide programs and services closer to residents residing in the area. Traffic Safety Communication Network
Description: Upgrade the citywide traffic control network to help make streets safer for drivers and pedestrians. This upgrade is intended to enhance communication between traffic management staff and traffic signals, school zone flashers, cameras, sensors, and electronic message signs. The upgrade could assist in decreasing response time to crashes, congestion, and signal issues throughout the city.
