A tax rate of $0.660000 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Grand Prairie. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held during the City Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at 300 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Throughout the month, we're celebrating the many ways parks and recreation make a difference in our community:
Fish Creek Linear Park features a playground, a suburban greenbelt corridor with creekside trees, open grass, bridges, and neighborhood access points. It's popular for families, walking, running, and cycling.
Friendship Park features 20 acres of playgrounds, walking paths, a pond, sport facilities, restrooms, and more. Perfect for tennis, baseball, and softball players.
McFalls Park East is situated by the water. Sports lovers will love the baseball field and foodies will enjoy the picnic areas with grills. Enjoy swimming? McFalls Outdoor Pool is a short walk away!
Mi Familia Park features 85.8 acres of fields right next to Mountain Creek Lake! With a large shaded pavilion, colorful playgrounds, and trails along the water, Mi Familia Park has something for everyone.
Mike Lewis Park is a grassy expanse with basketball & volleyball courts, pavilions, a playground, horseshoes, trails, and fishing.
Parkhill Park is designed for your inner football or soccer enthusiast. With 25 acres of fields, a playground, and shaded areas, Parkhill Park can be your next favorite park!

epic rec is a fitness and recreation hub with something for everyone. From group fitness classes and fully equipped gyms to pools, sports courts, and art classes, members and visitors can stay active, explore new interests, and discover a new hobby in a welcoming community.
The Summit is a recreation center geared towards adults 50 and older. The Summit features movie theaters, ballrooms, massage rooms, billiards, fitness, and more for members.

Alexis Phillips is an anchor for the Dalworth Recreation Center. Since entering the role of Recreation Specialist, Alexis has brought a light to the facility with her bright smile, her radiant energy, and her willingness to go above and beyond the general responsibilities as a Recreation Specialist. Alexis has stayed late, come in early, driven children to programming during Summer Camp, and so much more! Alexis is a valued member of our team whose dedication and outstanding service truly embody the mission and values of our department. She is, without a doubt, one of the shining stars of our organization!
