Childcare Family Home Permit

A Registered Childcare Family Home is a private residence in which the caregiver takes care of children in his/her primary residence; and takes care of no more than six (6) children under age fourteen (14) years, plus no more than six (6) additional school age children. The total number (counting his/her own children) is no more than twelve (12) children at any time). Registered Childcare Family Homes must have a "Childcare Registered Family Home Permit."

Step 2.Apply

Submit a paper copy of the Registered Family Home Permit Application(PDF, 156KB) in person to the Public Health and Environmental Quality Department.

What happens next?

After completing the online application, allow about 48 hours for processing applications. City staff will contact you once the application is received and reviewed with information on any fees due and next steps.

Fees

Annual permit fee for Registered Childcare Family homes is $50.00.

Fee will be due before initial inspection is made and prior to issuance of permit. Renewal will be billed to you approximately one month before your permit expires. Permit fees are non-refundable.

Pay fee in person to the Public Health and Environmental Quality Department.
