After you have sent in a complaint, a warning letter is sent to the animal owner to give them a chance to correct the problem.
Animal Services will mail the complainant a barking log and an affidavit to fill out, get notarized and return to Prairie Paws. The affidavit can be notarized free of charge at Prairie Paws, located at 2222 W. Warrior Trail, during business hours.
Once the affidavit is received, the barking log and video are sent to the city prosecutors. The prosecutors will then decide to enforce a citation or dismiss it on lack of evidence. An Animal Services Officer will be assigned to issue a citation.
If any further information is needed the investigating officer will contact you.
REMEMBER: The person making a complaint is always kept anonymous.
Please read our City Code on Animal Nuisance for more information.
