5 O’Clock Memorial Fund

Suzette and Gary LaGray established the 5 O’Clock Memorial Fund to provide a better future for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) positive cats. The adoption of all  FIV+ and FeLV+ is made complete with a voucher for a comprehensive veterinarian visit, and a new cat welcome gift, provided by the 5 O'clock Fund.

The LaGrays cutting ribbon on the updated penthouses at Grand Prairie Animal Shelter

On December 5, 2021, Grand Prairie Animal Services unveiled their new upgraded penthouses that were designed and donated by the LaGrays. The penthouses were donated in honor of their two cats, "Sadie" and "5 O’Clock," who were diagnosed with autoimmune diseases.

FIV and FeLV are autoimmune diseases found only in cats. Felines that are FIV+ are can live normal, healthy lives with the virus. Cats with FeLV may have shortened lifespans, but still have the potential to be loving pets. Provided with vet care and a kind-hearted family, cats with either virus can have a chance at their best quality of life with indoor homes.
