Green City Programs

The city of Grand Prairie's governmental mission includes reducing greenhouse gas (GG) emissions by encouraging the recycling, remanufacturing and reuse of existing materials, appliances, vehicles and facilities and using "green" technologies and operating to enhance the public welfare and protect the environment for the wellbeing and benefit of the citizens, and future generations of Grand Prairie.

Commercial Hazardous Waste

The city of Grand Prairie does not accept commercial hazardous waste at the City landfill or at household hazardous waste collection events.

Illegal Dumping

What is illegal dumping?

Illegal dumping is the dumping of waste materials such as household trash, roofing shingles or other debris on a property that is not licensed as a waste disposal site. (Refer to Ord. No. 7328, § 3, 1-3-06 and Ord. No. 7973, § 2, 7-7-09.)

How do I report illegal dumping?

Report illegal dumping in Grand Prairie by calling the City of Grand Prairie’s Illegal Dumping Hotline at 972-237-8064.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments also operates an Illegal Dumping Hotline: Call 1-888-335-DUMP (3867), and the appropriate authorities will be alerted. The NCTCOG's hotline is for illegal dumping in the following counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise.
