Permits Required Information

Permits Required. (Ref. 2015 IRC & IBC Section 105.1)

Any owner or owner’s authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure*, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be performed, shall first make application to the (Building Inspections) and obtain the required permit.

  • Definition: Structure - That which is built or constructed.
  • All permit applications must be reviewed before authorization and issuance. Review times vary and may take several days depending on type of application. Please contact our office via email at regarding submittal options.
  • Acceptable forms of payment are checks via mail and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) via an authorization form provided by staff. We do not have the ability to process American Express.

  • Calculated @ .28 cents per square foot (base permit fee)
    • With an additional 45% plan review fee (x base permit fee)

Remodel and/or Interior Finish -

  • Calculated @ .28 cents per square foot (base permit fee)
    • With an additional 45% plan review fee (x base permit fee)

Each living unit for Multi-family construction -

  • Calculated @ $250 per living unit
    • With an additional 45% plan review fee

All inspection requests received overnight and before 8:00 a.m. the next morning will be place on that day's inspection schedule. Calls received after 8:00 a.m. will be scheduled for the next work day.

You will be prompted to make selections through-out the call.

Before calling you will need:

  • A touch-tone phone (includes most cellular phones)
  • The site specific 6-digit permit application number
  • An Inspection Code (see Inspection IVR Codes link)


With E-Permits you can:

  • Track the status of your permit application
  • Obtain plan review comments & fee information
  • Schedule or cancel an inspection
  • Get inspection results
