A tax rate of $0.660000 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Grand Prairie. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held during the City Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at 300 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Cyclists of all ages joined Mayor Ron Jensen for a Back the Blue bike ride at Loyd Park on July 21. It was the fourth of seven rides this year for the cycling series that Mayor Jensen started in 2015 to encourage healthy lifestyles, fellowship and fun.
