A tax rate of $0.660000 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Grand Prairie. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held during the City Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at 300 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Get an exclusive first look at Prairie Lights before it opens to the public!
The 18th Annual Sneak-A-Peek brings runners and walkers to Lynn Creek Park for two nights of holiday lights featuring millions of bulbs, all without the traffic and lines of the regular drive-through experience.
Participants will run through the Prairie Lights display along the full light show route. No strollers or dogs are allowed during the 5K.
Awards go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each of the 17 age groups. Awards ceremony on stage immediately following the final finisher.
Enjoy a family-paced, untimed 3-mile walk through the lights. Strollers and dogs are welcome.
Both events include a commemorative T-shirt, and proceeds support the City of Grand Prairie’s Parks, Arts & Recreation programs.

Registration is limited each night. No walk-up registration will be available. Children ages 4 and under do not need to register.
Groups of 10 or more can register for $25 per person when all participants register together. Team registration closes Oct. 16.

Registered participants can pick up their race packets at the Lake Parks Administration Offices at 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway in Grand Prairie.

Friday, Nov. 20 | 11:30 a.m.–7 p.m.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. each night and close at 5:30 p.m. The race will begin at 6 p.m.!
When arriving at Lynn Creek Park, please follow directions from the gate and parking attendants.
Once the race begins, no one will be permitted to enter or exit the park until the race is complete and the course has been cleared.
Participants and spectators are encouraged to meet near the Prairie Lights Stage or the START/FINISH Line.
