The City of Grand Prairie invites the public to learn more about the proposed budget for fiscal year 2026-27 and weigh in at an upcoming public hearing. Here, you will find a short video and document explaining the proposed budget as well as the full 269-page proposed budget book below.

Budget Highlights

  • The proposed budget for fiscal year 2026-27 is $573.8 million.
  • The largest investment is $144.4 million for public safety, with $52.9 million supporting the fire department, and $91.5 million for police department.
  • The second‑largest investment is the water department, with $131.5 million to make sure our city's water is clean, safe, and reliable.
  • $20.8 million from the proposed budget covers the expenses of our solid waste fund.
  • The proposed budget includes enough funding for our parks, libraries, special events, and all 27 City departments that serve our residents.
