Grand Prairie City Services Memorial Day Schedule

In observance of Memorial Day, City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 27.

The city will have an in-person Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, 925 Conover Dr.

The ceremony may also be viewed live virtually on the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts, and Recreation Facebook page.

Memorial Day hours for city services are as follows:

  • The Landfill and Garbage Collection/Recycling The landfill will be closed on Monday, May 27. Collection will shift to the next day for each service day within the holiday week. Recycling will be picked up on Thursday, May 30. Visit https://www.gptx.org/garbage to learn more.
  • Libraries – closed, all libraries have bookdrops for the return of items after hours. Items can also be returned to the Lake Parks Book Locker 24/7/ The eBranch is always open at gptx.org/library, with ebooks, music, online learning and streaming media.
  • Water bill payment offices – closed
  • The Epic Recreation Center – closed
  • Shotwell Life Center, Charley Taylor and Dalworth Recreation Centers – closed
  • The Summit 50+ Adult Activity Center – closed
  • Prairie Lakes Golf Course – open, holiday rates apply
  • Tangle Ridge Golf Club – open, holiday rates apply
  • Kirby Creek Indoor Pool – open, lap swim: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., open swim: 1-6 p.m.
  • Lake Parks on Joe Pool Lake – open, holiday rates apply
  • Outdoor Pools and Splash Factory – open 1-6 p.m.
  • Animal Shelter – closed
  • Tourist Information Center – open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Municipal Court - closed
  • Via Grand Prairie - closed
