The City of Grand Prairie adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.The tax rate will effectively be raised by 2.13 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-.22. In accordance with Tax Code § 26.05(b)(2).

Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen recognized Congressman Marc Veasey’s years of service and commitment to Grand Prairie Tuesday at City Hall.
Congressman Veasey presented a ceremonial check representing $250,000 in federal funding for Grand Prairie’s Main Street Revitalization Project.
During the presentation, Mayor Ron Jensen presented a proclamation designating August 25, 2026 as Congressman Marc Veasey Day in Grand Prairie.
“Throughout his tenure in Congress, Congressman Veasey has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to public service and has been a strong advocate for the citizens of Grand Prairie,” the proclamation reads. “The City of Grand Prairie recognizes Congressman Marc Veasey for his years of dedicated public service and extends its sincere appreciation for his contributions to our community.”
Also on hand to recognize Congressman Veasey's community impact were Mayor Pro Tem Kurt Johnson, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Jacquin Headen, and City Councilmembers Jorja Clemson and Bessye Adams.
