The City of Grand Prairie adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.The tax rate will effectively be raised by 2.13 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-.22. In accordance with Tax Code § 26.05(b)(2).

Mr. Alcorn devoted himself to strengthening the community through his service as founder and president of the Grand Prairie chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as a member of the Grand Prairie City Council, and as founding member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Civil Rights, through his advocacy for fairness, civic engagement, and opportunity for all residents.
Mr. Alcorn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. He dedicated his professional career to health care, and made Grand Prairie his home for nearly five decades while building a loving family with wife, Rhonda, their five children, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
