City Christmas and New Year Schedule

In observance of Christmas and the New Year, City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. Other city services affected are:

• The Landfill and Garbage Collection--The landfill will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1 and garbage will not be collected Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1. Residential garbage collection for Thursday addresses will be collected on Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2.
  
  
• Prairie Lights is open nightly beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 is the last day of Prairie Lights. Visit www.prairielights.org for more info.

• Charley Taylor Recreation Center, Dalworth Recreation Center and Tony Shotwell Life Center will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The recreation centers will be open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
  
  
• The Summit will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The Summit will be open 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
  
  
• Epic Rec will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. Epic Rec will be open 5:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
  
  
• Kirby Creek Indoor Pool will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The pool will be open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
  
  
• The Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The Animal Shelter will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
  
  
• Libraries will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and remain closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The Warmack and Shotwell Libraries will close at 6 p.m. on December 31. All libraries have bookdrops for the return of items after hours. Items can also be returned to the Lake Parks Book Locker 24/7/ The eBranch is always open at gptx.org/library, with ebooks, music, online learning and streaming media.
  
  
• Prairie Lakes and Tangle Ridge Golf Courses will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25. Prairie Lakes and Tangle Ridge Golf Courses will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
  
  
• The Tourist Center will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
