Due to the recent storm, our community has experienced significant tree damage.

Grand Prairie residents can bring brush from their homes to the landfill through June 11 at no charge and will NOT count toward the resident 5 free drop-off limit.

Fallen trees and brush only.


Update: May 29, 2024

  • Oakdale Road is closed from Belt Line to Sandy Lane due to a fallen power line.
  • City libraries, recreation centers, and the Public Safety Building are open and available during normal hours today for cooling and charging purposes.

The National Weather Service cautions about hazardous weather conditions.

Cooling/Charging Stations Now Open

Update: The cooling/charging station at the Public Safety Building will remain operational overnight for all Grand Prairie residents.

Please note the following important information:

  • Transportation to the center is not provided. 
  • Only service animals are permitted; unfortunately, other pets cannot be accommodated. 
  • Sleeping bags and cots are not allowed inside the center. 
  • Residents are encouraged to bring chargers for their electronic devices. 
  • Water will be provided on-site. Feel free to bring your own food. 

Closed Roads

  • Marshall Dr. is closed between Great Southwest and SH 161 due to a down power line
  • Conover Dr. at Bank of America Blvd. is currently closed due to a broken pole (pictured below).

Low Water Crossings

As a reminder, please be cautious around the following low-water crossings and potential/historically flood areas in our City:

  • Carrier Pkwy – between Dickey Rd and W. Phillips Ct.
  • SW 3rd St. – between Dickey Rd. and W. Phillips Ct.
  • Riverside Pkwy – Under SH 360 and Riverside Golf Course.
  • Oakdale – street flooding
  • E. Jefferson – street flooding
