Water Rate Update: Changes Coming on October 1

Welcome to Grand Prairie's guide to the new water rates that will go into effect on October 1, 2023.

We understand the importance of water conservation and are committed to providing clean and sustainable water services to our community.

These rate adjustments are necessary to support the maintenance and improvement of our water infrastructure.

New Water Rate Tiers

Water rate per 1,000 gallons (Residential)
Tier Monthly Gallons Cost per 1,000 Gallons Usage Level
Lifeline Total usage 3,000 gallons or less $0.15 Low
Tier 1 0 to 10,000 $5.06 Average
Tier 2 10,001 to 20,000 $6.74 Average
Tier 3 20,001 to 30,000 $10.25 High
Tier 4 Over 30,000 $12.82 High

For example, if your household typically uses 12,000 gallons of water per month, your new rate will be calculated based on Tier 2 pricing.
