A new chapter of residential development is unfolding in southern Grand Prairie with the creation of Lakesong, a master-planned community that will bring new housing, recreation, and economic opportunity to the area.
Located near the southern tip of Joe Pool Lake and set along both Highway 287 and Highway 67, Lakesong is designed to blend mixed-use facilities, residential neighborhoods, and natural landscapes into a community that supports the City’s long-term growth.
Spanning approximately 2,700 acres of rolling hills and open space, Lakesong is being developed by Huffines Communities, a real estate firm known for creating large-scale, high-quality residential communities across Texas.
A groundbreaking for the project took place in November 2025, and construction on Phase 1 is now underway with first home sites ready in 2026-2027.
