Grand Prairie City Council Approves Annexation for Goodland Master-Planned Community
The City of Grand Prairie has approved the annexation of an additional 900 acres in south Grand Prairie to support the development of
Goodland, a 5,000-acre master-planned community. This annexation represents a significant milestone in advancing the City’s long-term vision for growth, connectivity, and quality of life.
The newly incorporated acreage will now have access to full city services, including police and fire protection, as well as water and sewer infrastructure. Plans for the area include mixed-use residential development and several hundred acres dedicated to a future community hub and town center, which will be developed in collaboration with the City.

Planned features within the annexed area include:

These amenities are designed to create a walkable, amenity-rich community that supports a variety of lifestyles and price points, further expanding opportunities for current and future residents of Grand Prairie.
Infrastructure Driving Growth
A major driver of this development is the upcoming completion of Goodland Parkway, a regional thoroughfare scheduled to open by the end of the year. The Parkway will provide critical access into the heart of Goodland and connect to future commercial, retail, and civic services.
Designed as a key connector, Goodland Parkway links SH 360 and Hwy 287, with future extensions planned to reach Hwy 67 along the southern boundary of the City.
This infrastructure project has been made possible through a strategic collaboration between the City of Grand Prairie and Provident, both of which have invested significantly in its development.
