Grand Prairie’s Fire Station 7 was initially built on Matthew Road in 1979. In 2010, Station 7 was relocated to the Lake Operations Center, serving alongside the Grand Prairie Police Lake Unit and Parks and Recreation staff to provide better coverage to Joe Pool Lake and the southern areas of Grand Prairie. This station is home to the department's Public Safety Dive Team, housing firefighters certified in dive operations and to Battalion Chief 2. Fire Station 7 houses a Battalion Chief vehicle, dive bus, engine, ambulance, fire boat, and rescue boat.
