Each year, the City Council considers and adopts a property tax rate to fund essential City services such as police and fire protection, streets, parks & recreation, libraries, and other programs that serve the community. Throughout this process, the City is committed to providing residents with timely, accurate, and transparent information about how the property tax rate is determined and the opportunities available for public participation.

Visit texas.gov/PropertyTaxes to access your local property tax database, where you can find information about your property taxes, including the estimated taxes each taxing entity will impose if it adopts its proposed tax rate.
The City of Grand Prairie is located in Dallas County, Tarrant County, Ellis County, and Johnson County and is served by six independent school districts. As a result, property tax rates and tax bills vary depending on your property's location.
Your local property tax database will be updated regularly during August and September as local elected officials propose and adopt the property tax rates that will determine how much you pay in property taxes.
To receive notifications regarding updates to the property tax database, search for and select View on your property. On your property detail page, select “Subscribe to notifications” in the top-right corner. After entering a valid email address and full name, select “Confirm” and follow the instructions to confirm your subscription.
