Thank you for your interest in Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful’s Shade Makers Workshop! This free, two-part workshop will take place on November 14 and November 21, 2026, and is designed to give participants both foundational knowledge and hands-on experience caring for trees.

To get the most out of the workshop and ensure a complete learning experience, participants are asked to plan to attend both sessions.

Part 1: Classroom Instruction

Saturday, November 14 | 1:00–4:00 PM
Betty Warmack Library - 760 Bardin Rd. Grand Prairie, TX 75052

The first session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of caring for shade, ornamental, and fruit trees. Through classroom instruction, participants will learn about tree health, proper pruning techniques, and general tree care.

Part 2: Hands-On Practice

Saturday, November 21 | 1:00–4:00 PM
Gateway Community Garden - 2404 N. Carrier Pkwy. Grand Prairie, TX 75050

In the second session, participants will have the opportunity to put what they learned into practice through hands-on, in-the-field experience. This session will provide an opportunity to build confidence with proper pruning and tree care techniques.

Everyone who registers will receive a confirmation with the session locations and additional information to help you prepare for both days.
