The City of Grand Prairie adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.The tax rate will effectively be raised by 2.13 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-.22. Stressed out by unexpected fireworks or noisy celebrations? The Main Library will host a Quiet Zone July 3 and July 4, beginning when the Library closes as usual at 8 p.m., and continuing until 2 a.m.
A limited number of noise-cancelling headphones are available to borrow, or feel free to bring your own. We will have white noise machines staged throughout the building and a sensory station set up. Kids enjoy our play area and computer learning games; while adults and teens can access our seating areas and computers.
