Grand Prairie Renames Cesar Chavez / Dolores Huerta Holiday Published on March 25, 2026 In response to the concerning allegations against Cesar Chavez, on Wednesday the Grand Prairie City Council voted to rename the March 31, 2026 Cesar Chavez / Dolores Huerta Holiday to Dolores Huerta Day.The City Council also approved removing the March 31 holiday from the 2027 City calendar and establishing a yearly Dolores Huerta Holiday on April 10 beginning in 2027.
