Turner Park Phase II: New Amenities and Upgrades Coming in 2026

The City of Grand Prairie’s Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is moving forward with the next major step in enhancing one of its most popular community parks.
Turner Park Phase II, located at 600 N. Belt Line Road, has officially entered the construction phase, bringing a variety of improvements designed to expand recreational opportunities and increase overall accessibility for residents.
Phase II includes a comprehensive set of upgrades aimed at improving both the function and experience of the park. Planned enhancements include:

Lighted walking trails to support safe, accessible recreation during early morning and evening hours

A new children’s play area designed for inclusive and active play

Picnic shade structure for family gatherings and community use

Restroom facility to accommodate increased park activity

New park furnishings, including benches and seating

Additional parking areas to improve access and ease congestion

Large group pavilion for events, celebrations, and community programs

Landscaping improvements, including the addition of 39 new trees with irrigation

Grading and drainage improvements for better stormwater management

Installation of new grass sod with temporary irrigation

Demolition of the eastern segment of Park Square loop road to improve flow and safety

A new monument park sign at South Belt Line Road
Construction on Turner Park Phase II is currently underway, with a projected completion date of August 2026.
