The City of Grand Prairie community is invited to join the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Phase I improvements to Mi Familia Park, a cherished community space. The event, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at 10 a.m., 2402 Cardiff St., marks a significant milestone in the city's commitment to enhancing public spaces for the enjoyment of all residents.
“We are thrilled to unveil the first phase of the Mi Familia Park improvements, a project brought to life through the hard work of our community and staff,” said Mayor Ron Jensen. “As we cut the ribbon, we will celebrate not just an enhancement of facilities but the enrichment of a legacy that will serve our community for generations to come."
The improvements include a new multi-level playground, extensive walking trails, a dedicated food truck area, updated restroom facilities and signage, pavilion repairs, and landscaping and irrigation upgrades. Additionally, a fitness court will soon be added, enhancing the park's appeal.
The celebration will kick off with performances by Grand Prairie High School’s Ballet Folklorico Fuego Azul and Mariachi Azul. Following the ribbon cutting by the city council and park board members, attendees will be invited to enjoy refreshments – while supplies last - and explore the park's new features.
