Grand Prairie Secures $2.8 Million Grant to Enhance Fish Creek Trail

We’re excited to announce that Grand Prairie has been awarded a $2.8 million Local Parks Grant, thanks in large part to the advocacy of State Representative Chris Turner and our partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife. This generous funding will help us make important improvements to the beloved Fish Creek Linear Park Trail.

One of the key upgrades will be the installation of pedestrian lighting along the trail, especially in wooded areas that currently lack adequate lighting. This addition will make the trail safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable — allowing residents to use the space comfortably during warm evenings and shorter winter days.

This project is a shining example of how collaboration between state and local leaders can bring meaningful benefits to our community. We look forward to enhancing the trail experience for everyone who enjoys this natural gem.
