Mayor Pro Tem John Lopez was appointed in January 2023 to serve a second term on the NLC Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) federal advocacy committee, which advocates for federal funding opportunities for cities and towns, improving safety and connectivity, and leveraging innovation for all types of transportation.
City Council Member Junior Ezeonu was selected in June 2023 to the NLC 2023 Race Equity and Leadership (REAL) Council to develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities across the country.
City Council Member Jacquin Headen was selected in June 2023 to serve on the NLC Community and Economic Development federal advisory committee, which provides strategic direction for policy priorities on housing, community, and economic development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation, and international competitiveness.
“Grand Prairie is fortunate to have three very capable City Council members serving in these important national advocacy roles,” said Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen. “Their contributions to NLC councils and committees benefit our city and communities across the United States.”
