The sizzle of meat, the sound of laughter in the air as K-pop beats create a relaxed and vibrant feel, encapsulate an afternoon at the Asian Heritage Festival at Asian Times Square. The three-day celebration ran Friday May 9 through Sunday May 11, featuring traditional and contemporary cultural performances, martial arts demonstrations, lion dances and more.

Walking down the rows of vendors, you are greeted with different styles of Asian cuisine. Each vendor distinct from the next, selling pork skewers, glazed candy, steamed buns and croffles, a variety of tastes to satisfy even the most adventurous customers.

Beyond the food, a selection of unique vendors offered jewelry, hand-sewn flowers, art, and more, with gift ideas for Mother's Day and May graduates.

In addition to highlighting Grand Prairie's Asian Heritage, the festival featured the Race to Replace Hate Saturday morning.  The net funds from the 5K walk and run, will be donated to Asian American / Pacific Islander Nurses Association.

The Asian Heritage Fest is a yearly tradition that continues to grow in impact and popularity. With an Asian population of about 7 percent, The City of Grand Prairie is proud to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our friends, neighbors, businesses and residents.
