The City of Grand Prairie engaged the engineering firm of Gresham Smith to conduct a study of the City’s wastewater collection system.

This study is important to the City because it is structured to identify the condition of all existing pipelines and manholes in a portion of the City with older infrastructure, so that future improvements can be identified.

The wastewater collection study notification letter(PDF, 757KB) to citizens includes a map of the area of this study.

Gresham Smith will be conducting Field services to the city’s wastewater collection system within city easements or in public right of way using four separate field service companies.

  • The firm of ADS has been engaged to install flow meters within City manholes.
  • The firm of RJN has been engaged to perform inspection of City manholes. In addition, RJN will be performing smoke testing to identify leakage within City pipelines.
  • The firm of Ace Pipe will be performing closed circuit video inspection of City pipelines.
  • The firm of HydroPro Solutions will be installing devices on City manholes.

Each of these firms have been instructed to carry proper identification and to request access to residential backyards if City manholes are in easements behind homes.
