A tax rate of $0.660000 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Grand Prairie. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held during the City Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at 300 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

On July 11, officials dedicated the city’s new cricket stadium, which will host matches for Major League Cricket (MLC).
MLC launches its inaugural season this week with a roster that includes the Texas Super Kings in Grand Prairie as well as teams from Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.
