Fire Fatality

At approximately 5:46 a.m., Grand Prairie Fire Department crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 2100 block of El Paso St. On arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming through a window and were notified of one possible victim trapped inside. Crews quickly began a primary search and were able to locate one adult female victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
