The South Dallas Business and Professional Women's Club defines trailblazers as pathfinders or leaders who have paved the way for others to follow. Many outstanding African Americans have helped shape Dallas and Texas by contributing their talents and skills to their growth and development. For over three decades, South Dallas Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc. has focused attention, recognition, and honor to those individuals who may have otherwise received little or none from the Greater Dallas community. A trailblazer is a person who is the first to do something. The first and only African American who has singularly achieved distinction in a given field and whose accomplishments have received local and/or national attention.
