How It Works

Welcome to the Grand Prairie Library’s Summer Reading Club! This annual program is designed to encourage readers of all ages to dive into books throughout the summer months. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can participate:

We're going digital! This summer, track all your reading through Beanstack, our easy-to-use online reading platform.

Step 1: Sign Up

Visit gptx.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app.
Create a free account for yourself or your whole family in just a few taps.

Step 2: Read Anything, Anywhere

Read what you love—books, eBooks, audiobooks, comics, even reading aloud with someone counts!
Every 5 hours you read = 1 badge earned.
Attending a library program? That counts as 1 hour of reading too! Check out our printed guide or online events calendar regularly so you don’t miss out.

Step 3: Earn Badges & Win Prizes

For every badge, kids can visit the library to claim a prize—like a treasure chest item, a coupon, or a free book!
Teens & adults can use their badges to enter prize drawings directly in Beanstack.
(Remember: each badge = 1 digital ticket = entry!)

Step 4: Keep Going!

Everyone can earn up to 20 badges total this summer.
Even after that, keep reading to become a Top Reader in your age group—Top Readers will win a special Grand Prairie Library Themed Prize!
And don’t forget: we’re reading toward a community goal of 3,000,000 minutes this summer.
Every minute counts, and every page brings us closer together.

5. Celebrate Your Success

At the end of the summer, we’ll celebrate everyone’s achievements with an End of Summer Party. Everyone is invited to join us for fun activities, crafts, photo opportunities and more. It’s a great way to wrap up a summer full of reading adventures!
