Expanding Horizons: Local to International Learning”  by Emily Coffman Richardson

This presentation will (re)introduce us to the multitude of learning experiences that are each uniquely designed and available to both the hobbyist and the professional genealogist.

We will start with local resources that include books and journals at the local library, visiting the local courthouse to experience researching at a courthouse, podcasts, webinars and other learning you can do from home.  We will then move to regional societies in the DFW area, statewide genealogical resources and talk about the benefits of being a member with the Texas State Genealogical Society (TXSGS).

But we won’t stop there, we will consider resources from other states, national organizations like the National Genealogical Society and RootsTech.  We will finish the evening looking at international education options as well as genealogical academies.  There will be a 5-page handout filled with resources.

You will note that the Grand Prairie GS meeting will be in person as well as virtual.

If you are planning to attend the meeting, it will be in the Inspire Room at the Grand Prairie Memorial Library, 901 Conover, Grand Prairie, TX.

There will be a Meet and Greet at 6:30 pm with the program beginning at 7:00 pm.  If you have any questions, please send an email to info@gpgstx.org

If you are planning to request a link to the Virtual or Zoom Meeting, please do so as soon as possible so that the link can be given to each person in a timely manner.
