Grand Prairie Chapter of Crisis Response Ministry
Crisis Response Ministry (CRM), a faith based victim service organization, has formed a Grand Prairie Chapter through a partnership between the Grand Prairie Police Department and the Grand Prairie Police and Clergy Coalition (GPPACC).
The CRM corps of volunteers offers one-on-one support for victims of crime, emergencies and disasters of all kinds. The volunteers are on call to support police and fire personnel with:
- Incident stress management
- Grief and trauma support
- Confidential case management
- Support and comfort to families at notifications of a death
- Sensitive response to specialized needs of senior adults
- Referral to outside resources
Since 1999, CRM (formerly Victim Relief Ministries) chaplains and crisis responders have responded to over 150 disaster deployments from the Ground Zero of 9/11 at NYC to hurricanes (Such as Katrina and Ike), ice storms, floods, wildfires (Possum Kingdom, Bastrop, West Texas, Arizona and California), tornadoes (Joplin, Missouri, Alabama and Mississippi) and internationally to Grenada (Hurricane Ivan), Haiti (earthquake of 2010) and Japan.
