Record Drawings and Final Project Acceptance

In order to receive final acceptance of a project, the Engineer of Record must deliver the following to the Engineering Department on the first floor of the Development Center, 206 W. Church Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050:

  • A full size (22”x34”) Mylar set of the final record drawings, including revisions per comments made during the final walk-through
  • CD labeled with the name of the Subdivision or construction project, the City X #, the Vault File #, and the name of the entity that prepared & submitted the data containing one PDF file of all plan sheets combined and one CAD Drawing in DWG format of the accurate and complete Record Drawings/As-built
  • Standard Letter of Acceptance Request
  • Final Acceptance Checklist

Refer to the Record Drawing Submittal Process for the complete requirements to submit Record Drawings.

The Development Coordinator, Inspector Supervisor, and Project Inspector will review the final record drawings for completeness. Once verified by the Development Coordinator and City Inspector, a final acceptance letter will be issued by the City Engineer stating that the inspection and testing of the project have met the standards of the City of Grand Prairie.

Issuance of the letter of acceptance will precede any release of a full certificate of occupancy or the release of any Building Permits for signal family homes within a residential subdivision.
