Thank you for your interest in holding your next Special Event in the City of Grand Prairie! Please click the infographic to determine if you need a permit and what to include in your application. Pay close attention to the Insurance Requirements. Special event applications CANNOT be approved without the correct documentation.  

Before you get started with your online application, please review the City’s special event ordinance and the required special event permit information

In an effort to make sure the applicant and City are covered, the City of Grand Prairie requires the following insurance coverage for special events based on the risk of event:

  • Name the City as additional insured and certificate holder. Please include a subrogation waiver.
  •  General Liability insurance coverage must be 1,000,000.00 per occurrence.
  • If Transportation is provided to and from event: Auto Liability Coverage: Statutory limits.
  • If amusements rides are present at the event: Provide the Vendor's insurance certificate with applicant named an additional insured.

For any event that will construct enclosed structures in excess of 400 sq. ft. or structures in excess of 700 sq. ft. with open sides, please refer to the Grand Prairie Building Inspections page to complete a temporary structure permit. This permit is needed to complete the special event application process.
