Co-Owner, Eddlemon’s at Prairie Lakes
How long have you lived in Grand Prairie?
I’m 63 years old, and I’ve lived in Grand Prairie my entire life.
What school did you attend school in Grand Prairie?
I graduated from South Grand Prairie High School.
Why have you chosen to continue living in Grand Prairie?
This is home. My two sons and grandchildren live here. We all enjoy living, working and playing in Grand Prairie.
In your opinion, what has been the best development in the city?
For Eddlemon’s, it has been our unique relationship with the city which brought about our Prairie Lakes location. Most municipalities don’t outsource food service at city-owned golf courses, but Grand Prairie wanted to see our tradition continue. We’ve been here since 2006, and everything has worked out well.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?
Our family has been in business since 1953, not many restaurant owners can say that.
When you have free time, how do you spend it in Grand Prairie?
We love going to the Uptown Theater.
What is Grand Prairie’s best kept secret?
The Grand Prairie Arts, Parks and Recreation Department. Thanks to its efforts, we have a premier horse track, one of the most advanced senior centers in the state, a premier event center, a revitalized historic theater and much more.
What is your favorite Grand Prairie restaurant?
When I’m not eating at Eddlemon’s, my wife and I eat at the restaurants in the downtown area.
What would you say to someone who is considering moving to Grand Prairie?
Everyone is realizing that Grand Prairie is a contender, and, at this moment, we have some of the best city management in the city’s history.
