What is Adopt-A-Street?

The Adopt-A-Street program is a cooperative effort between the city, our residents, business owners, clubs, and organizations to keep our right-of-ways and neighborhoods clean and beautiful.

Interested parties may adopt one or more sections of roadway in Grand Prairie (Groups adopting a 1/2 mile or longer section are eligible for a set of two signs, one on either end of the section, to display their name. Groups adopting a shorter section, such as in front of their home, school or business, are eligible to have their name included on the KGPB Adopt-A-Street web page.)

If interested in picking up litter on Grand Prairie roadways as a one-time event, contact the KGPB Coordinator at kgpb@gptx.org.

How can I get involved?

Adopters can adopt a street for two years with each year ending on March 8. Volunteers are asked to clean their street four times a year but are only required to turn in three cleanup reports.  Cleanup includes both sides of the streets and medians and 12 feet from the back of the curb.

Each half mile or greater adoption will receive two signs, one on either end of the adoption. The signs have a top and bottom part - the top features the Adopt-a-Street logo and the bottom features the name you submit when you complete an application. Signs may not include logos, phone numbers or websites.

View the Adopt-A-Street Map to see which roadways are in need of adoption or have already been adopted.
