Spring cleaning is made easy for Grand Prairie residents! The city offers the following events:


Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events

March 7, April 25, May 9, 2020 (See more dates)

City Hall, 300 West Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050

9 a.m.–11 a.m.

Safely dispose of household hazardous waste (such as aerosol cans, auto fluids, batteries, cleaning supplies, cooking oil, etc.) at one of the city's free collection events. Registration is required. Register online or call 972-237-8055.

Electronics Recycling

March 7, April 25, May 9, 2020 (See more dates)

9 a.m.–11 a.m.

The City of Grand Prairie offers free electronics recycling events throughout the year. Electronic waste can also be disposed of at the landfill any day during regular operating hours. Register online.

Garage Sales

If planning to have a garage sale, remember to apply for a garage sale permit. Fill out the Garage Sale Permit application online or stop by the Code Compliance office, 300 West Main St., to fill out paperwork.

Trash Off

April 20 and October 3, 2020

Clean house and get rid of your junk during "Trash Off" events at the Grand Prairie Landfill. Residents are allowed an unlimited number of trips to the landfill on the following days. Trash Off is a great way to dispose of all those bulky items that won't fit in the garbage! 

Proof of residence in the form of a current water bill or driver's license is required.

Shred-It Day: Shred Documents

April 18, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Between The Summit and Public Safety Building, 2559 Esplanade

Safely shred your sensitive documents.

Cost: $5 per box

Proceeds benefit the Grand Prairie Crime Commission Inc.

Arrive early.
