Challenge Yourself with Turning Pages

Expand your reading horizons in 2023! Turning Pages 2023 is a self-paced reading challenge to ignite a love of reading new tropes, genres and subjects.

Turning Pages suggests 12 broad categories, that will lead to new discoveries of titles and authors. Categories are flexible enough to appeal to all ages and reading levels.

Need help getting started? Our librarians have gathered some potential titles. Or feel free to explore on your own! Tackle a category a month, or just read at your own schedule.

• Read a book set in a bookstore
• Read a book that's been adapted to a movie, then watch the movie. Decide which is better.
• Read an adventure story
• Read a book published the year you were born
• Read a retelling of a classic story
• Read a book under 100 pages
• Read a poetry collection
• Read the first book in a new-to-you series
• Read a book published this year
• Read a book set on a plane, train or automobile
• Read a book with a recipe in it
