Loop 9 BBQ, a new restaurant concept featuring prime brisket and other connoisseur-level barbecued meats, now offers full catering services. Loop 9 BBQ will soon be one of the first restaurants to open in Grand Prairie’s growing 172-acre entertainment center, EpicCentral.
City officials behind EpicCentral turned to Larry Lavine to bring the perfect barbecue restaurant to the new development. In 1975, Lavine founded Chili’s with its first location in a converted postal station on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas. Today, Chili’s has more than 1600 locations. The veteran restaurateur knows his Texas barbecue.
Loop 9 promises prime grade brisket smoked to perfection, the best ribs you've ever tasted, Texas sausages, and so much more. Every item on the Loop 9 BBQ menu is prepared from scratch with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and truly authentic Texas flavors.
Loop 9’s name comes from the historic effort by public officials to build a Dallas - Fort Worth “outer outer” route that sought to ease traffic from the future DFW airport. Funding problems plagued the so-called Loop 9 route ever since project leaders held the first public hearings in Grand Prairie, and the ambitious roadway proposal remained on the back burner for decades. Today the city’s 161 Corridor thrives with new construction projects creating a new era for the region. At the center is the EpicCentral development complete with amusement parks, hotels, a conference center and a row of restaurants with Loop 9 BBQ leading the way.
The menu doesn’t stop with premium barbecue. The scratch-made sides include Mexican Corn, Borracha Beans, Fried Okra, Cornbread, and two flavors of Fresh Cut Fries. Lavine’s wife inspired him to include her award-winning pies for dessert. Chocolate Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie, and Banana Cream Pudding add some sweetness to the main savory offerings. The restaurant even has a separate pie shop where customers can order whole pies to take home.
Loop 9 opens to the public in early 2023.
