Grand Prairie City Services Independence Day Schedule

In observance of Independence Day, City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Holiday hours for other city services are as follows:

  • All Libraries – The Warmack Library, Shotwell Library, and the Main Library will be closed on July 4. Items may be returned to book drops located at all locations or renewed online. Summer lunch for kids will not be offered at the Main Library on July 4, and there will not be a Monday program for kids at any library branch on Monday, July 3.
  •  Water bill payment offices – closed on July 4
  • Charley Taylor, Tony Shotwell and Dalworth Recreation Centers – closed on July 4
  • The Summit –  closed on July 4
  • The Epic Recreation Center – closed on July 4
  • Prairie Lakes Golf Course – open with normal hours and holiday pricing
  • Tangle Ridge Golf Club – open with normal hours and holiday pricing
  • Lynn Creek Park – Residents: free on July 2-3, $20 on July 4; Non-Residents: $40 per vehicle per day July 2-4
  • Loyd Park - $40 per vehicle per day July 2-4
  • Kirby Creek Natatorium – lap swim open 8 a.m.-noon on July 4. Open Swim open 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. on July 4
  • Bowles, McFalls and Tyre Pools and Splash Factory Water Playground – open 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on July 4
  • Epic Waters Indoor/Outdoor Water Park – open 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. on July 4
  • Garbage Collection/Recycling – garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Tuesday, July 4. Please put garbage out on Friday, July 7 and recycling out on Tuesday, July 11.
  • Landfill – closed
  • Animal Shelter –closed on July 4
  • Municipal Court – closed on July 4
  • Tourist Information Center – closed on July 4
